If you were to ask most people hunting for jobs if they would wear a novelty tie to a job interview, most would answer no. When asked why, they will offer several reasons, the most obvious of which is that they do not match the professional ensemble they are trying to achieve.

Novelty ties may reflect your interests, but that can be better expressed on your resume.
